The outdoor exhibition was displayed on the facades of the former Bon Marche department store, while being refurbished to provide new offices for the practice, and was devised to showcase the creative talents of people living and working in the area and provide a free exhibition for the local community which draws on Brixton’s unique culture and heritage.
The Street Gallery was on display during London Design Festival from Saturday 19 until Sunday 27 September, as part of a series of events and installations for Brixton Design Trail.
Work included an eclectic combination of art including painting, photography, mosaics and murals with contributions from local secondary school Evelyn Grace Academy, The Brixton Pound, Matt Crump, Azarra Amoy, Kaylene Alder, Abe Odedina, Photofusion and Juan is Dead.
