Business Development Manager

We’re looking for a passionate and self-motivated Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a substantial impact by contributing to the business development efforts across the entire practice.

The role of the Business Development Manager will be to help us achieve our growth goals, by identifying new business opportunities and working closely with senior leadership to define and implement business strategies that drive growth.

The BDM will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as clients, partners and industry leaders.

Key requirements:
• Research and identify key clients and target markets to develop strategic connections with potential new clients and arrange meetings.
• Manage new business leads and existing clients.
• Convey the company’s core ethos and vision to notable names within target industries.
• Organise, maintain and update project information sheets, CVs, project portfolios and presentations.
• Contribute to RFPs, PQQs and competition entries.
• Actively seek out and review OJEU Notices, Frameworks and similar sources of potential new work.
• Assist management with determining team composition where sub-consultants are required for an opportunity.
• Develop and manage new business development using a CRM system to record and future-proof new business activity and leads.
• Possess a strong understanding of our competition in the industry and positioning.
• Understand and learn our portfolio of work, practice areas and global capabilities.
• Represent the company brand and promote the company at all levels.
• Identify key industry events, speaking opportunities and work with management to ensure Squire & Partners are adequately represented.
• Work with the PR team to help develop new material to support business development activities.
• Compile and present weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.

Skills:
• Passionate about and well-versed in the architecture sector and its cultural landscape.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and adept at managing multiple deadlines.
• Ability to motivate and influence others.
• Capable of taking initiative, ambitious, self-motivated and highly creative.
• Knowledge of software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign and Photoshop.

Architects

We're looking for talented architects to join our team. Successful candidates will have good design skills and understanding, with an ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to take initiative in response to instruction. You will be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently. Alongside excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, you will be self-motivated, pro-active, able to take on responsibility, and work independently and as part of an effective team. You should be able to legally work in the UK.

Software skills:
• Excellent Revit or 3D CAD modelling skills are essential.
• Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
• Microsoft Office: Word and Excel

Job description:
• Run projects on a daily basis
• Coordinate design/detailed design drawings
• Prepare specifications
• Check sub-contractors’/consultants’ drawings.
• Liaise, where appropriate, with members of the external design team and other associated organisations or companies
• Minute site/consultant meetings
• Update database when appropriate
• Thorough knowledge of/compliance with Squire & Partners procedures, protocols and standards
• Contribute, or otherwise assist, as required

Part 1 + 2 Architectural Assistants

We’re looking for enthusiastic Part 1 and 2 architectural assistants to join our practice. We’re seeking candidates with good design skills and understanding, with an ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project. PR Assistant

We’re looking for a highly motivated and creative PR Assistant to join our inhouse Public Relations department, supporting with a range of responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:
• Information for press
• Commissioning photography/organising shoots
• Social media management
• Awards scheduling and submissions
• Managing press cuttings/schedules
• Exhibition layouts
• Website management
• Brand and proforma management
• Managing memberships and subscriptions
• Managing image database system (OpenAsset)
• Organising internal and external events

Skills/experience:
This role is ideally suited to someone who has previous experience working in the built environment industry and is looking to develop their skills in this field. An interest in architecture and design is essential. Excellent writing skills, a graphic eye and a high level of personal organisation is key. Competence with InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Office is essential.
