Planning consent granted for art’otel Hoxton

Squire and Partners designs for the flagship art’otel in Hoxton were granted consent last night by Hackney Council. The scheme provides a 350 room hotel with bar and restaurant, as well as creative studios, an arts hub, spa and cinema space.

The design responds to a precedent of bull-nose buildings which characterise the Conservation Area, being based on a pure cylindrical form which is evolved into a fractured cogwheel in plan, rising and adapting in response to its context and functions.
