Squire & Partners opened the doors of its new Brixton office, The Department Store, to host a design series collaborating with the area’s finest creative talent for London Design Festival 2017. The dynamic line-up included experiential installations, textiles, printmaking and paper-craft as well as talks and a maker market.

Under/Exposed provided a platform for established and emerging local talent including experimental fashion designer Isobel Fletcher, illustrator and printmaker Kaylene Alder, textile designers Bowles and Betts, and a partnership between local curio shop and gallery Brixi and Crafty Fox Market to bring Design Circus to town.

Exhibitions, installations and performances were combined with hands-on workshops and a maker market to offer a week of evolving design activity.

Squire & Partners created a balloon installation in the windows of The Department Store to animate the street and draw attention to the activities taking place inside the building. Neon lights also made up a window display, with a scissor shape depicting the craft element of the week's events, an umbrella shape to represent the involvement of Design Circus, and the shape of a piece of clothing to reflect the fashion collection being exhibited.
