Squire & Partners’ Winter Windows collaboration with Lansdowne School in Brixton, south London, launched at The Department Store on Friday 1 December. Sixteen students from Years 8 and 9 – who live with a range of communication and learning difficulties – worked with a designers and modelmakers from practice to create eight bespoke interactive window illuminations, in which the human body could take centre stage.

The installation was switched on in front of children and families from the local community, and the Deputy Mayor of Lambeth, artist Philip Normal. Winter Windows illuminated the ground floor of The Department Store, Brixton, throughout December and January.
