Great Architectural Bake Off 2017

Squire and Partners are very proud to be a part of another successful year at the Great Architectural Bake Off hosted by WATG as part of London Design Festival 2017.

On Saturday 10 June, Squire and Partners put together a team of seven to compete against other architects and designers, including Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners, Zaha Hadid and Foster and Partners, to bake and construct a St. Paul’s Cathedral inspired cake. The cake consisted of three tiers, victoria sponge, lemon drizzle and coffee cake, a 3D printed cast chocolate turret and dome and a gingerbread facade.

The judging panel consisted of renowned author and design critic, Alice Rawsthorn, Rose Carrarini, founder of Rose Bakery, Bella Younger of Deliciously Stella, Harriet Thorpe of Wallpaper* and Daniela Puga, Architecture Curator at the Barbican.

Despite RSHP winning this year’s crown with an amazing cake, we had a brilliant day with some very tasty cakes!
