The Fulwood is the third x+why that Squire & Partners have worked on, and the first sited away from East London. The interior design sought to acknowledge this shift, designing for ‘uptown’ and potentially more varied end users, whilst ensuring that the aesthetic that lies at the heart of x+why spaces was retained.
An integral part of our x+why designs have included a bold use of colour which filters into the FF&E and artworks, marrying the spaces together. At The Fulwood, we took elements that would be distinctly different to the previous x+why spaces to set the building apart and elevate the materiality to suit its surroundings. These elements include a Crittall-style door system and use of a timber-effect vinyl flooring instead of exposing the metal raised floor.
