This office-led mixed use scheme on the site of a Grade II listed former hospital on the Euston Road is the headquarters and symbolic face of UNISON. The scheme also includes affordable and private residential units to the rear.
The scheme unites a disparate campus of buildings, integrating new and old and providing a strong architectural presence. At the heart of the scheme is an open atrium, surrounded by the major public spaces of the complex, which allow clear views in and out.
Squire and Partners was retained to undertake the fitout for UNISON, including the provision of press rooms, conference facilities, catering facilities and a council debating chamber.
The scheme receives 20% of its energy from renewable sources, using a biomass boiler and photovoltaics. Upon completion UNISON was awarded a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent.’
