5 Strand is a flagship luxury hotel development for Park Hyatt on the east side of Trafalgar Square, close to a number of London’s most famous landmarks. Designs respect the surrounding Conservation Area by creating a contextual contemporary building which sits comfortably in its heritage setting.
5 Strand is a flagship luxury hotel development for Park Hyatt on the east side of Trafalgar Square, close to a number of London’s most famous landmarks. Designs respect the surrounding Conservation Area by creating a contextual contemporary building which sits comfortably in its heritage setting.
Rooted in the distinct character and scale of the surrounding area, 5 Strand is expressed as a crafted natural stone building with added layers of detailing. Vertical columns of fluted limestone establish a grid structure, within which a series of projecting bay windows with delicate metalwork are grouped to express the building as it rises. The top three set back floors are clad in a dark metal shingle with warm bronze tones, and offer outdoor terraces with far reaching views.
A hotel lounge and bar/restaurant at ground level will activate the street, with a second rooftop restaurant located at 11th floor. Event spaces and guest wellness areas are located below ground.
