Description
Rolling Stock Yard is a new development on York Way in King’s Cross designed to offer contemporary workspace for creative small to medium sized businesses. The design was informed by the King’s Cross area, historically characterised by the machinations of transport, freight and industry.
Facades feature expressed black metal horizontal profiles and vertical timber fins emulating railway tracks and sleepers. Perforated metal screens to the office levels offer privacy and shade during the day, and emanate a diffused glow at night. All office floors have access to generous cycle storage, winter gardens and at the top level, an external roof terrace.
Capable of responding to the needs of growing companies, the building is presented as an adaptable collection of working spaces offering units ranging in size from 150 to 680 sqm. At pavement level the building animates the street with a fully glazed office reception and public café.
