Located within the Regent Street Conservation Area, the two vacant and narrow units have been unified into a single space, reinstating the grand central entrance and introducing full-height windows to open up the area and draw attention to the historic entrance hall and rediscovered historical elements. Stripping back layers of the building added by previous tenants uncovered original elements such as significant plasterwork detailing, including a cornice and facia with a motif that wraps around the internal space, as well as an existing feature ceiling lantern.
The transformation of the spaces not only reveals and enhances the building’s architectural language, but allows for the incoming new retail tenant, Blank Street Coffee, to positively contribute to the character of the area and activate the streetscape once more.
