Forming a landmark new development at the centre of the regeneration of London’s Bankside, Triptych Bankside – a trio of elegantly sculpted buildings – offers a dynamic mix of residential, workspace, and cultural spaces.
The towers are a striking addition to London’s skyline, with gently twisting forms and undulating terraces that evoke the nearby River Thames.
Two out of the three towers - 15 and 19 storeys respectively – house 169 luxury apartments, ranging from studios to four-bedroom penthouses, while the third 9-storey commercial building provides 68,000 sq. ft. of creative workspace. Each apartment benefits from high ceilings, dual aspects and a private terrace, carefully placed to ensure views of the city skyline. At ground level, the development houses a new campus for Art Academy London, as well as a bouldering gym and a social enterprise café.

Concept
Nestled between culturally significant attractions such as the historic Globe Theatre and Tate Modern, the development addresses the dual challenge of accommodating much-needed public routes for six million visitors; while retaining tranquillity for residents at the nearby Peabody housing estate.
In the early design stages, the site was divided into three buildings, creating access through a once impermeable site. Newly landscaped communal gardens preserve numerous existing mature trees – whose rootballs and foliage were another defining design development factor – and offer places of refuge for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.
Form
Rounded corners, stepped floorplates, and sculptural balconies were integrated to soften the towers' presence and harmonise with the riverside landscape. Timeless palettes and materials, including bronze and stone, were chosen to bring warmth and elegance to the façades. The slender footprints – relative to the buildings floor area – preserve sightlines from terraced balconies to local landmarks like St Paul’s Cathedral.
A new home for artists
At the heart of Triptych Bankside’s is a new campus for Art Academy London, an artist-led institution dedicated to making art accessible to all since 2000. Designed by Squire & Partners Interiors Department, the campus features nine studios, an auditorium, specialist workshops, and a 2,000 sq. ft. public gallery. These spaces provide a platform for local artists and outreach within the wider community through exhibitions, classes, and events.
