Squire and Partners won a competition to design a residential quarter at Trinity Place, a landmark development in the Petrogradsky district on the banks of the Malaya Nevka River in central St. Petersburg, Russia.
A single building was designed to create an enclosed courtyard, so that residents enjoy views of both a central garden square and the river. Articulated as a series of stone bays based on a classical hierarchy, the building features projecting brass framed bay and oriel windows to maximise views of the river. These bays are accented by panels of blue mosaic tiles, drawing reference from the many historical buildings in Saint Petersburg, including the Winter Palace and the spectacular interior of the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood.
Apartments are complimented by a generous feature reception area and landscaped gardens.
