The redevelopment of No. 1 Palace Street comprises six existing buildings which together form an urban block addressing Buckingham Gate, Palace Street and Stafford Place. The site lies directly to the south of Buckingham Palace within the Birdcage Walk Conservation Area, and two of the buildings are Grade II listed.

Squire & Partners’ designs create a prestigious residential development of 72 apartments with a single porte-cochere entrance on Palace Street, which is visually and physically connected to a 500sqm landscaped central courtyard. An existing 1980s block on Palace Street will be demolished and replaced with a refined Portland Stone and bronze building, designed to knit together the retained facades of the existing buildings. The two listed buildings will be meticulously restored internally to reinstate original features, and introduce new interior elements which complement the existing historical building fabric.

In addition to the shared courtyard garden, residents will have access to a gym, spa, business suite and an underground car park. A restaurant will be located on the corner of Buckingham Gate and Palace Street.
