Squire and Partners has won planning permission for a new 14,370 square metre mixed-use development on a prominent corner at the junction of Duke Street and Barrett Street just off Oxford Street in Mayfair.

The project replaces an outdated and inefficient office building with a new development of six 1-3 bedroom apartments with retail space at ground level.

The proposals have been designed to integrate into the surrounding Stratford Place Conservation area in both composition and materiality. The massing and elevation is sensitive to the listed Georgian buildings found in the local area, while the façade has been designed from a traditionally influenced palette of grey brick, bronze, white marble and glass.

The result is a restrained yet architecturally prominent contemporary contribution to this key corner site which improves the character of the area while providing new high-quality residential and retail space to this central London location
