Squire & Partners gained planning consent for a new residential-led development located at 1-13 Cricklewood Lane, in Barnet.
The mixed-use scheme will contribute to Cricklewood's historical evolution, firstly as an industrial district centre and in more recent years as a residential area.
Designs arrange 145 new homes - including fifteen shared ownership units - across three blocks of varying height centred around a landscaped courtyard garden. Retail space is provided on the ground and basement floors of the linear building which addresses and animates Cricklewood Lane, whilst cycle parking and a new public realm creates amenity for the local community.
Taking inspiration from the surrounding streetscape, the façade combines brick, stone and solid panels with the addition of patterned balustrades, metal spandrels and entrance gates to create a distinctive character that echoes the historical buildings on Cricklewood Broadway.
Roof-mounted photovoltaic panels and a combined heat and power system will be installed to generate renewable energy on-site and minimise the development's carbon footprint.
