The scale and massing of this mixed use scheme take into account the local context of the lower buildings to the south west and the tall buildings to the north east. The tallest tower, at 44 storeys, addresses Marsh Wall and creates an appropriate landmark to form a gateway to the Millennium Quarter. The orientation of the buildings maximise views towards the City, Greenwich and Canary Wharf.
The tower facades are set behind a continuous skin of glazing, giving the building a homogeneous lightweight reflective surface. Behind the glazing sit opaque panels and fritted glazing, providing both privacy to the bedrooms behind, and a layered depth and richness to the building.
A series of public spaces encourages pedestrian flow through the scheme. The focal point is a central public square animated by cafes and restaurants, which not only help to regenerate the local area but also establish the development as a destination in its own right.
