Due to significant changes in its parish over three decades, it was decided to rebuild St Andrew’s church to provide a smaller church more tailored to the contemporary requirements of the parish and the local community, and a 14 unit residential development on the remaining property.

The new church is laid out over three storeys within a smaller footprint, with the entrance defined by an atrium rising the full height of the building. Services are held in the lower worshipping hall, above which a meeting hall hosts a broad range of activities for the church and local community and theatre groups. These rooms are connected by a vertical stained-glass slot window. The textured rear wall of each hall is lit naturally from full length rooflights and side slots. At the end of the worship hall is a small garden, containing the font. At its centre is a single olive tree, a symbol of the early church.
