Practice

Squire and Partners has been designing award-winning buildings in London and internationally for over 35 years. Our approach to design assumes that every site has its own history, character and needs. Derived from their context, buildings respond to underlying themes of materiality, scale and proportion whilst revealing a commitment to contemporary design and detailing.

We employ over 150 architects and architectural assistants, who work on a range of work from small bespoke commissions through to substantial mixed-use developments and urban masterplans.

77 Wicklow Street

The practice’s own offices at 77 Wicklow Street are designed to cater for the needs of a rapidly growing company. The ground and lower ground floors of a former printing works were designed to encourage communication and interaction in an open and attractive environment.   Voids in the new floor slab unite the two levels, which are connected by two elegant staircases made of pre-cast concrete steps on a concrete spine, and channel daylight into the lower level.  The ground floor reception area is connected to the cafe and meeting rooms by a gently ramped glass bridge, with views down into the space where the office's weekly project meetings take place.  Informal meeting areas are provided adjacent to the main working spaces.

The interior design department at Squire and Partners works with project teams across the office, as well as collaborating with client appointed interior designers, to create bespoke spaces particular to their setting. Their specialist knowledge of materials, furniture and lighting – honed with visits to various design events throughout the year – is an invaluable part of the practice.
