Squire & Partners is reimagining 22 Shad Thames, a mixed-use building that was once the creative domain of renowned designer David Mellor, set in the heart of the historic riverside location neighbouring Tower Bridge.
The sensitive retrofit of the Grade-II listed building seeks to modernise and improve its sustainability credentials, focusing on the refurbishment of the existing fabric and repurposing spaces to create high-quality workspace to support modern working patterns.
The reinvigorated, contemporary reception will act as a central hub for the building, with a newly welcoming atmosphere and improved access. The top two floors, levels 4 and 5 will be converted from residential to office space, providing a seamless integration of workspace within the refurbished structure, with the basement space reconfigured to provide a range of high-quality end of trip facilities.
The revitalised building will help to preserve the heritage of Shad Thames, paying homage to its storied past whilst transforming into high-quality contemporary workspace that will set the standard for future projects in the area.
